Their purpose served as autumn gradually leaves to make room for winter, the birdhouses are vacant for now, waiting for next year’s tenants. Offering the only color of summer in a world of grey, brown and yellow, these signs of the hand of man in the woods patiently watch their inhabitants fly south, or forage in the leaves in preparation for snow and colder weather.
