Feels like all the things that have to come together and result in great fall color are lining up just right this year. Starting to see some really intense and bright colors around the area. The mix of hardwoods in areas is just right for that ‘patchwork quilt’ look so favored by photographers. Here are a few images of what I’m seeing right now. The location for these scenes is along the eastern side of Lake Winnebago in SE Wisconsin. The mound-like hills in some of the pictures are drumlins, piles of rock and soil left behind by the glaciers. They give some shape to the state’s terrain and nice dimensionality for a landscape photographer.
